–object / publication / collective reading event-–
Initially developed as a thesis on artistic research, in the frame of the Master in Theater (Toneelacademie Maastricht), ‘The Green Box‘ is an essay in the form of an art object. Inspired by Marcel Duchamp’s homonymous piece, it’s a playful publication: you are invited to unfold the box and pull out its contents into the room in order to read them. Interrelated but autonomous texts are engraved or carved out in different plates explore the performativity and materiality of words. Thinking out questions about writing as a technique for thinking, the organization of research-creative processes and an interest in visual propositions that move beyond mere images, ‘The Green Box‘ is an essay that attempts to trigger the eventfulness of a more-than-reading.
‘The Green Box‘ functions in two different formats: shared with individual readers for a period of time (the reader receives the Box at home, on loan, for a set period of time) and as part of collective reading events. It can be presented in festivals, reading groups, foyers or galleries. Interested? thegreenbox (at) pablofontdevila.com
