Japan (2011)

__ lighting design __

Japan explores the physical and poetic vocabulary of agony. It investigates contraction, release, fainting, waking-up, coma, fight, collapse, fall, resurrection, slow death, fast death, the testament. The piece aims to realise the potential of the dancing body as intense, poetic, violent and absurd. The choreographic structure creates a surrealist universe and a “hyper” dynamic energy.
